Head of the River 1810
Just below Gunnislake navigation becomes impossible. A canal was proposed and work started but only a few hundred yards were ever completed. This is the head of navigation as it was in about 1810, with barges bringing up fuel, building materials and so on and taking away bricks, ore, and local produce.
