The mines have closed, the valley produces fruit and flowers, but these aqre still transported from the lower quays such as this one at Cotehele. This site is now owned by the National trust, and there is a good information centre for those interested in the old ships and how the river was used. The house is open to the public too, and the building shown is still a working pub/cafe/restaurant.
